Staff Accountant - Fund Accounting
San Francisco, CA

Position Summary:

The Staff Accountant will work closely with the all members of accounting group and will report to the Fund Controllers. Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the preparation of journal entries and supporting schedules for general ledger account balances, assisting with the preparation of financial statements and other reports for investors and interacting with the external auditors, including providing them with audit packages and any other information that they may require. Primary Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Prepare journal entries and make proper accruals in the general ledger on a monthly basis.
  • Prepare monthly reconciliations of balance sheet and income statement accounts in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Assist with preparation of consolidated financial statements on a fair market value basis in accordance with GAAP for the assigned fund entity.
  • Prepare accurate and complete audit packages and provide timely, complete and accurate responses to external auditor’s questions or requests for information.
  • Process investor capital call and distribution requests.
  • Prepare periodic investor reports, questionnaires and loan compliance reporting.
  • Coordinate and distribute quarterly financial packages to investors and other recipients.
  • Provide tax preparers with accounting information requested for income tax return preparation.
  • Bring any accounting/auditing issues to the Senior Accountant and/or Fund Controller’s attention on a timely basis.
  • Undertake other assigned duties from time-to-time.

 

Skills & Competencies:

  • All candidates must have a BA or BS degree from an accredited institution, preferably in accounting, finance, economics or related area. Must have strong academic credentials.
  • An ideal candidate would have 2-4 years of accounting experience, with 2 years of audit experience preferred.
  • A Real estate background is preferred.
  • Excellent communication and organization skills.
  • Ability to work independently and proactively.
  • Capable of multi-tasking.
  • Ability to prioritize deadlines.
  • Should possess a strong team-oriented work ethic and energy.


Compensation:

Competitive - based on experience.
